Training Courses

Explosives, firearms & HME courses
Venue: RXT South Norfolk (near Diss)

The current security threat is constantly evolving. Those involved in countering the multiple challenges we now face need up-to-date knowledge of the materials and techniques used.

Much of the information provided in current military and civilian courses and literature is out of date, relating only to historic events.

Designed by industry experts and led by experienced instructors, our training courses offer a unique blend of classroom teaching and practical demonstrations. They are ideal for those who wish to improve their knowledge of current security threats.

Topics covered in our courses:

  • An introduction to explosives, including the safe handling of live materials
  • An introduction to HMEs (home-made explosives)
  • Demonstrations of HME manufacture, including peroxides and liquid explosives
  • Live demonstrations of commercial, military and home-made explosives
  • Recognition of a home-made explosives site
  • An introduction to IIDs & IEDs (improvised devices) and hands-on presentation of real-life examples
  • An introduction to firearms, both historic and current, and those disguised as other objects
  • Demonstrations of various firearms calibres, and their effects on wood, steel and ballistic gel targets
